Price monitoring platforms - PriceZag comes out as clear winner

Last month we tried some price monitoring platforms because the one we were using (Prisync) picked the wrong price too frequently. We ended up trying the Serbian platform Price2Spy and the Californian platform PriceZag who claims to work with 99.4% of the websites...

It turns out that they were right! Among the 130 websites we tested PriceZag picked the correct price for 126 of them. That's 97% and not 99.4 but we would need more websites to have accurate measurements. We did not test that many websites with PriceSpy because we realized after only 30 that the platform will not work for us. Besides the superior accuracy of PriceZag there are a few other things we liked that other platforms do not provide:

Screenshots for every page. We can actually see what their software saw. This is very useful for debugging, investigating, and a must for MAP. They even provide a history of screenshots so we can compare the page of a product with its previous versions.

SMS alerts. Their email alerts are amazing with lots of options but if you prefer text alerts they have that too.

Perhaps more impressive is that PriceZag searched for our products on our competitors websites automatically. We got tired of searching for URLs everywhere, now it is automated! This alone saved us weeks of labor. Their software goes on the website of any competitor to grab the search form. It then performs different queries by itself and matches the results with our products like magic!

Do you know the Polish Zloty?
We never heard of it but we tried to trick PriceZag by entering websites of different currencies for a same product while keeping our account in US dollars. We had 28 different currencies and thought the software will pick the wrong currency but it did not! It has even converted to US$ some currencies we didn't know existed, like PLN the Polish Zloty for This DJ mixer on a Polish website.

The only downside is that we had to copy all our URLs from Prisync to PriceZag one by one because as we might expect Prisync did not allow us to backup everything and go away that easy...
